E&L Importadora y Distribuidora SpA (“E&L,” “we,” “us,” or “the Company”) is responsible for the ZIERIQ application (“ZIERIQ” or “the Application”). This Policy explains how ZIERIQ accesses, processes, stores, and protects information when its features are used.
1. PURPOSE OF ZIERIQ
ZIERIQ is a support tool for drivers who use mobility applications. It analyzes the information displayed in a ride offer and compares it with the criteria, goals, and costs configured by the user. The result is presented through metrics and visual signals. The decision to accept or reject a ride always remains with the user.
2. PERMISSIONS AND ASSISTANCE FEATURES DURING A SHIFT
ZIERIQ’s assistance features operate only during a shift expressly started by the user. At the beginning of each shift, the Application activates the required services and requests the authorizations required by Android. When the shift ends, ZIERIQ stops screen capture and processing, disables its assistance features, and ceases accessing the information used during the shift.
Accessibility Service: enables ZIERIQ to identify and read visible elements from offers displayed by compatible mobility applications, currently Uber and DiDi, including amounts, times, distances, and references required to perform the analysis.
Screen capture through MediaProjection: enables the temporary processing of visible screen content and the recognition of text and visual elements. ZIERIQ does not use the device’s physical camera, record videos, or retain photographs or screenshots. Frames used during the analysis are discarded after processing.
Device location: when a shift begins, ZIERIQ performs a one-time location query to identify the country through the operating system’s geocoder. The resulting country code allows the Application to automatically configure the appropriate currency and measurement system. Location is not used to track journeys, record routes, or calculate the distances displayed by mobility applications.
Screen overlay: enables ZIERIQ to display its floating profitability signal over the mobility application used by the driver during the shift.
Information used by these features is processed locally on the device. It is not transmitted to E&L servers, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or tracking. The resulting metrics may be stored locally to create the user’s history and analyses.
The user may stop the shift from ZIERIQ and may subsequently revoke granted permissions through Android settings.
3. INFORMATION PROCESSED LOCALLY
ZIERIQ may process locally on the device:
Visible offer data required for the analysis.
Temporary screen frames used by MediaProjection and visual recognition.
A one-time location query used to determine the country code.
User-provided settings, including vehicle, fuel efficiency, fuel price, goals, and target margin.
Metrics and history generated through use of the Application.
Texts and frames used to analyze an offer are discarded when the corresponding processing is complete. Coordinates queried when a shift begins are not retained as location history. Settings, the country code, and resulting metrics may remain in local device storage to display the user’s history, progress, and preferences.
4. LEGAL BASIS FOR DATA PROCESSING (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar regulations, processing is based on user consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.
ZIERIQ accesses visible screen information, temporary MediaProjection capture, and one-time location information only after the actions and express authorizations required by Android. Users may refuse these authorizations or subsequently withdraw their consent.
Because the described processing takes place locally and the information is not transmitted to external servers, E&L applies the principle of data minimization and limits access to what is strictly necessary for the features requested by the user.
5. ACTIONS ZIERIQ DOES NOT PERFORM
ZIERIQ:
Does not record keystrokes.
Does not read or store passwords or login credentials.
Does not intercept messages, emails, or private communications.
Does not use the device’s physical camera.
Does not record videos or retain photographs or screenshots.
Does not retain a history of the user’s coordinates or journeys.
Does not use location to track journeys or calculate the distances displayed by mobility applications.
Does not perform automatic clicks.
Does not accept or reject trips on the user’s behalf.
Does not modify device security settings or bypass Android privacy controls.
6. TRANSMISSION AND DISCLOSURE TO THIRD PARTIES
Visible offer data, temporary screen frames, and the one-time location query are processed locally and are not transmitted to E&L servers.
ZIERIQ does not use analytics SDKs, external tracking services, advertising, usage monitoring, or remote crash-reporting services. E&L does not sell, rent, or share this information with advertising networks, data analytics companies, or other third parties.
7. RETENTION, DELETION, AND USER RIGHTS
Settings, country code, history, and metrics stored locally remain on the device until the user decides to delete them. Texts, frames, and coordinates used temporarily during operation are not retained as independent records.
Under the GDPR and other applicable regulations, users may exercise the following rights:
Access and portability: users may view their history and metrics within ZIERIQ and export available information in formats such as XLSX or CSV.
Rectification: users may modify their settings, goals, and costs within the Application.
Deletion: users may delete local data by clearing ZIERIQ’s data through Android settings or uninstalling the Application.
Withdrawal of consent: users may end the shift to stop the assistance features and subsequently revoke permissions through Android settings.
Complaint: users may submit a complaint to the relevant data protection authority if they believe processing does not comply with applicable regulations.
8. SECURITY
We apply technical measures and development practices intended to protect the integrity of information stored by ZIERIQ. No system can guarantee absolute security. We therefore recommend keeping Android and the Application up to date and protecting your device using the available security mechanisms.
9. THIRD-PARTY APPLICATIONS AND SERVICES
ZIERIQ works alongside third-party mobility applications but is not owned by, affiliated with, representative of, or sponsored by Uber, DiDi, or their respective companies. Use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and policies.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy to reflect regulatory changes, Google Play requirements, or new features. The current version will display its last-updated date and will be published on this page.
